Desert Flower Ministries desires join God wherever He is working. We know that Jesus commanded us to go and be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth. He is calling us to take His Word to those in our communities, our nation, those that we have prejudices against, and to the very ends of the earth.

God has led us to pray, give, and go this year in order to follow, in obedience, His command to be His witnesses. We will PRAY for those people who send us prayer requests, the partnerships we have with other ministries, and for those who have never heard of Christ all over this world. We will GIVE cheerfully and totally of what He has blessed us with to be a blessing to others, as a steward, knowing all of what we have is His. We will GO wherever He leads!

God has shown us some very exciting ways to join His work this year all around the world and we are humbled. Please take a moment to see where God is leading us and pray about how you too might join God's work with us!

Here is the place where we will post specific prayer requests from DFM and also from those who share their requests with us. If you have a need for prayer and are willing to post it on our site, please contact us and we will put you on our prayer list here. We have specific ladies who pray daily for our ministry and the requests.

There are several ministries that we support through the proceeds of our book sales, events, and classes. We thank all of those people who choose to give by donating to Desert Flower Ministries of their money, time, and talents! We thank God for each of you and want you to know where part of the money paid for our resources goes.

Desert Flower Ministries believes that God desires us to be involved in sharing Jesus with those in our own families, communities, nation, and even around the world. Because of this passion, Frances has traveled to India and Africa to share with those who have never heard of Jesus and the amazing gift He offers of eternal life.

India

In 2004, Frances traveled with Gospel Harvesters International to Hyderabad, India. There she was a part of a music team that not only shared songs with schools all over the city, but shared the love of Jesus Christ through teaching. It was an amazing trip to one of the most populated countries in the world with staggering numbers of those who have not accepted the gift of eternal life.

Africa

In 2005 and 2006, Frances was able to travel to Tanzania, Africa with the International Mission Board. It had always been a passion of Frances' to join God's mighty work in Africa. The teams were able to visit remote villages to prayer walk and share the love of Jesus through hugs, candy, and smiles. The barrier of language is not a hindrance for the love of Jesus Christ to those who are desperate for it!

Jerusalem and Samaria

Atlanta Union Mission : My Sister's House
My Sister's House is a Christ centered transitional housing for women and children who struggle with life's issues.

Opportunity:
As approved volunteers of My Sister's House, we will be a part of leading Bible studies, discipleship classes, worship services, providing Biblical curriculum, leading children's worship and sponsoring movie nights for the women and their children.

Noonday Baptist Church - Women's Life Group
August 10, 2008 we are blessed to be starting a Women's Life group at Noonday Church. It will meet weekly at 9:30am at Noonday Church. We are excited about this opportunity to study God's Word together each week. We'll start each session with wonderful hot teas and muffins followed by a time of worship, prayer, Bible study, and small group discussion and prayer. It will be amazing!

Opportunity:

Judea

Partner:
North American Mission Board - Families on Mission
This year we are thrilled to be a part of the Families on Mission trips as project coordinators. We will be working with NAMB to provide mission opportunities targeted specifically for families with children ages 5 and up. Our desire is to be a part of a ministry that is working to allow families whether that be grandparents and their grandchildren, aunts and their nieces, single moms and their children, or moms and dads with the kids being on mission together.

Opportunity:
We were blessed to be a part of this in June and look forward to leading a project next year as well. If you are interested in attending our project for next year, please contact us directly and we will get you information as we get it. We do not have our assigned dates or location as of yet.

Needs:
-Prayer as we work this year with the North American Mission Board, the local associations and Director of Missions, and with the individual families involved.
-Volunteer to serve one week with your family!

Desert Flower Ministries is so grateful to partner with these strategic women's mobilization organizations. This year we will be an active part of their ministries by praying, giving, and going. We will be going to Central and Eastern Europe and Bangladesh to minister along with these partners

Opportunity:
DFM Mission Trips- This year we are going to Bangladesh in February 2009 to encourage our Christian friends. We have a HUGE need for donations for this project!

Needs:
-Donations of gifts for the women attending (ie. Lotions, home decorations, jewelry, Christian music CDs and books, journals, candies (hard), totes we can embroider for each woman, funds). Please contact us if you interested in donating supplies for this trip!
-Prayer for the ladies going, the women who will attend, and the people we will come in contact with during our trip that are there locally.

Women of Hope - This is a vision trip of women's leaders from across the United States that will travel to hear and learn about God's work in Central and Eastern Europe. There are 8 leaders who will travel to Prague, Russia, Poland and the Ukraine meeting with women's leaders from the entire CEE region.

Needs:
Please cover us in prayer as we meet with the regional strategy coordinators for Central and Eastern Europe.
